Your credit report is the raw data: your accounts, payment history, balances, inquiries, and public records. Your credit score is a number calculated from that data using a scoring model like FICO or VantageScore.
This distinction matters because two things can be true at once: your score can look “fine” while your report still contains errors, outdated information, or items that are dragging your score down more than necessary. Reviewing the report itself — not just checking a score app — is the only way to know what’s actually driving your number.
