Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion each maintain separate files on you. Lenders don’t always report to all three bureaus, which means your report from one bureau can look meaningfully different from another. It’s common to find an account, a late payment, or a collection listed on one report but missing from another.
If you’ve only ever pulled your score from one source, you may be working with an incomplete picture. Comparing all three reports side by side is often where the most useful discoveries happen.
